Reducing Plastic

Now in our second-year teaching through global goals changes are an everyday reality for our school. Decisions and actions are part of our life. Returning from Poland everyone thought we should take a step further. Best changes come from within!

Our head teacher suggested an original contest between classes, students, teachers and parents. Goal of this contest was which class will reduce the use of plastic bottle for water by using reusable ones. A teaching on global goals 12 and 13 took place for students to understand where wasted plastic is ending and how it returns through the nature to us. Notifications were sent to the parents along with invitations for them to participate in our action. After all what we teach we want it to be local at first and global at the end!

After one month of implantation the results were recorded, and we are very excited for them. Changes are on the making and our excitement is big! In this original contest for climate action the winners were unexpected as well. There was a draw! First graders came into school with great energy and they took initiative on the subject along with fifth graders who as well got re-usable bottles of high lay out. Both classes along with their teachers participated in the process. Everyone had fun! After the contest ended teachers had a meeting discussing the results and the head teacher announced a money prize for the winners. Everyone was way excited. Classes can use their prize in every way they like, if their consumption is environmentally friendly. Everyone decided we should again repeat this contest in the future!!!
