THURSDAY 17 TH OCTOBER 2019

We are now 5 days in Zblewo. Each day we go further into polish way of thinking, understanding more and more that people in Europe have a lot in common. Our beautiful day started with our team deciding in details about common goals and activities of our project. Work goes always first, combined with the excellent polish hospitality.

Afterwards students of Zbelwo welcomed us in their classrooms were we presented our schools and we took part in their activities. Students and teachers became one, always changing roles since everybody asked questions about the other one’s school and the time passed by very quickly.

We then had the privilege of taking part in the Year One pledge, a big celebration of the whole community, regarding the welcoming of the first graders into the elementary school. It was so moving seeing young students taking their first steps into education, committing themselves to try hard, to work and have fun in order to become better, in order to change the world.

The second round of our meeting had plans for the next meeting in Hungary for we all can’t wait. Towards the end of day we were presented with the customs, and the products of the local area of Zblewo and we even got the chance of trying ourselves to make some of them. Traditional dances, and polish tastes made our day but the best was saved for last. The polish team awarded us with the certificates of attendance in a very emotional meeting with all people involved and afterwards we left in order to be welcomed by the city mayor and the polish team in Wirty a beautiful botanic garden which hosts more than 813 species of trees and plants making it a breathtaking place to visit. A bonfire and a cultural team which presented the story telling of a polish wedding, along with amazing polish foods and drinks lead the day and our visit to Poland to an end.
